NOC's fall musical was Spitfire Grill. This was a drama, which is a change from many of the recent comedies they have performed (although there were definitely a lot of funny moments too!) My sister Taryn played the lead role of Percy, & it was interesting to see her in such a serious role. I loved this show, & really enjoyed the performance - both times I saw it!
Be sure to catch the spring musical, Freaky Friday! Performances are free!
I was recently asked to take photos for the Evans Childrens Academy's performance of the Wizard of Oz at the Poncan Theatre. It was a lot of fun to watch, & so well done! There were so many talented young people (wow, I'm getting old...) onstage, & I was super impressed with the sets!
Here is the full set of photos. Support local arts!
NOC's latest play was Peter & the Star Catcher, which was a creative backstory to Peter Pan. My youngest sister, Taryn, was in the show, playing a captain and father. It was fun to see her playing such a different role! The cast did a great job, & the show was really entertaining! Here are the photos from Act 1.
It's the beginning of my favorite time of year... Fall, which brings with it all of the best weather, the start of the holiday season, cuter clothes, better food, & also (maybe most noticeable in my family) the start of Taryn's almost constant performances. I love getting to see her perform, & I'm a little sad that this will be her last year at NOC!
The Kay County Fair is always the first big performance for the Roustabouts each year. Taryn had a few solos throughout the evening, & as always, she was fantastic. She never fails to impress me, she just gets better & better with each performance. Most of these photos (as usual) are of Taryn, but I tried to get at least one from each of the solo performances!
I'll be sharing photos from her play, or as it has been referred to, a "play with songs," Peter & the Starcatcher, towards the end of the month. The performances will be at NOC from September 27-30, & all shows are FREE, so come & support if you're in the area!
It had been far too long since I had taken any pictures. I've had a lot going on lately, but was ready to get back behind the camera! Thankfully, Taryn is always willing to model for me (& wanted some pictures with her shorter haircut!), so we did a quick photo shoot.
I also made Taryn snap a few photos of me. It was way too hot to be wearing velvet, but Taryn had done my hair & makeup & I really liked how it looked that day!
I drive by this wall frequently, as it is close to our offices for work. I always thought it would be cute to take pictures there with the pups, so I decided to just go for it one day. Laker was my photographer, & the pups were not going for it. We got a couple of cute photos out of it, but it was a bit of a mess! I'll know for next time that we need to plan further ahead!
