Laker gets up for work around 5 am, so I wake up to say goodbye to him. Then I go back to sleep for about an hour, wake up, check social media, & then go get ready for work.
2. What is the 3rd picture on your phone? Share it!
This is my friend Leah & I at Oktoberfest in my hometown.
I don't know if I really watch TV in the spring/summer. Most of the shows I watch come on in the winter.
4. What is something really popular that you secretly (or not so secretly) loathe?
Taylor Swift. I wouldn't say I "loathe" her. Just that she makes me angrier than almost anyone else in the world.
5. Do you have any pets? Tell us about them! Bonus points for pictures.
(Not so) Funny story. I got Laker an aquarium for Christmas, so we were the proud owners of Barack Obama & Bill Clinton (I'll let you guess which one is which. I told him we should have named them Gandalf & Saruman). I wrote this blog post the other day while I was at work & saved it as a draft so I could add pictures when I got home to my laptop. Then I got home, looked over, & Barack was laying at the bottom of the fish tank. After trying to convince myself that he had just learned a new trick, I finally had to accept that he was dead. I had to scoop him out - & almost threw up - & then tell Laker that his fish died once he got home (I didn't want to send out a "Barack Obama is dead" text). It might be for the better. Barack liked to hang out in his castle, but other than that, he just picked on Bill a lot... Chasing him around & biting his tail & such. Bill is smaller & just kinda hangs out. These pictures were taken before that little incident, obviously. & for the record, we totally should've named them Gandalf & Saruman, because then Gandalf Obama could've come back as a white fish wizard, no harm done.
It depends on the day & my mood. Some days I'm fairly girly, other days I'll wear studs & leather, & others I rock sweats & Laker's t-shirts.
7. What is your favorite adult beverage?
Goldschlager. It has real gold in it & it tastes like cinnamon. I don't really think you can ask for anything else. Although, whiskey is always good too.
8. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
I like really crappy, sometimes trashy TV. & I have no idea why. I'm not into chick flicks & I hate being around dramatic people, but I'll obsess over Pretty Little Liars, Mad Men, & Revenge.
9. What are 3 positive words to describe you?
10. What is your favorite Friday afternoon/evening activity?
Hanging out with Laker. We're both homebodies, so usually we stay in & cook dinner together. Then we watch whatever show we're working our way through (Modern Family, currently), play LOTR Trivial Pursuit or some other game, or sit by the fire & read.
11. A day in the life: What does your typical day look like?
On a typical weekday, I go to work, I'm off by noon, & then I'll eat lunch. Now that I'm taking a semester off of school, I have no idea what to do with myself. I'll clean, run errands, & do whatever else needs done for the day, then hang out until Laker gets home. Then it's generally some version of what I wrote above, unless we have plans with friends. My life is a thrilling, wondrous thing.
12. If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be?
13. You’ve got a whole day to yourself…what will you do?
Take a bath & read, read by the fire, do crafty things, watch Disney movies, rent movies from Redbox that I'm too embarrassed to watch with Laker, & maybe bake.
14. Dream job?
I want to be a Disney princess. Either voice a new one, or be Belle in a Tim Burton version of Beauty in the Beast. I also wouldn't mind naming nail polish shades, or being one of the people who gets paid to sit in the seats at awards shows while celebrities are backstage.
15. Least favorite chore?
Dishes. I'd rather scrub toilets than do dishes. Wet food makes me gag.
16. When do you most feel like a rock star?
When I actually do my hair & make-up & get dressed. I work at a Pilates studio so I wear workout clothes every day, rock a lot of ponytails, & make-up is not a priority.
17. What is something you are currently trying to improve within yourself?
Putting God first & others second, losing some of the anxiety in my life, & figuring out what I'm supposed to be doing for the next few years.
