Here's how I'm doing on each of my resolutions.
1. Read all of the New Testament (& part of the Old Testament).
I read the first ten Psalms, which are not in the New Testament, and I did a marriage reading plan, & I'm currently working through my second reading plan about finances & tithing. So... I'm pretty sure I've read my Bible every day, but I'm not exactly speeding through the New Testament.
2. Date Laker. We do a pretty good job of this, but there's always room for improvement, & our goal is to always be improving our marriage.
We're really good about doing the little things for each other. We've also got a double date planned with Halli & Alex (who just got ENGAGED! More on that soon) for Valentine's Day.
3. Find more creative endeavors to be involved with. Stay inspired. If any of you want help with creative projects, hit me up!
I've been scrapbooking quite a bit, & doing some other random projects. I made some mugs for my friend Temple, put together some snail mail for a few friends, did a painting for our house (& ended up making copies for a few friends who liked it!), practiced my photography, bounced some photo shoot ideas off of my friend Kevin... It's been a productive month!
AND... I ordered a new camera with our tax return! Finally! It comes with four lenses & a full-size tripod & a bunch of other accessories, so I'll finally have a nice setup. I can't wait!
I've read 2 & 2/3! I plan to do a few posts about what I'm reading later on.
5. Travel. Leave Oklahoma 5+ times.
We started off the year in Springfield (you can read about it here), have plans to go to Wichita, KS over Spring Break, & have two bigger trips planned for our anniversary & New Years. We're also hoping to make a Seattle trip sometime.
6. Blog more. This is kind of self-explanatory. I'm really sporadic about blogging & need to be more consistent.
I've actually done a pretty good job on this. I used to blog every couple of months, & now I blog every few days! Not too shabby.
7. Journal more.
I haven't done so great at this. BUT. I have prepped pretty well for it. My mother-in-law got me a pretty new journal for Christmas, which I have plotted out a checklist for the books of the New Testament, & plan to use as a prayer journal. I also just got a new journal from Shutterfly that I plan to use as a travel journal. It's covered in travel photos, & I love it! & our friend Chase gave us a marriage journal when Laker was a groomsman in his wedding a couple of years ago, & we have yet to use it (oops), so I just wrote a little prompt to Laker & am anxiously awaiting his reply!
