Our first full day in Florida, we all went to Epcot. I had made Snow White & Rapunzel Mickey ears for myself & Halli because we were Disneybounding that day. I also got a birthday button, since it was just a few days after my birthday. As soon as we walked into the park, I was greeted with, "Happy birthday, Snow White!" It doesn't get much better than that!
We began our day in the Future World section of the park. We went straight back to Test Track, since we didn't have a FastPass for that ride & we knew it was a popular attraction. Everyone else got on to ride, & I went to explore the park, since I couldn't ride that one. I had the park practically to myself for about an hour! It was such a cool experience. I got lots of awesome pictures with no one else in them. I asked one of the cast members why it was so empty, & he said they had opened an hour early & many people didn't know, or had chosen to use the Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom that day. So I guess we just got lucky!
While everyone used a FastPass on Mission: Space, I used mine to visit the Character Spot. I saw Mickey, Goofy, & Minnie, & had a great time! Mickey pointed at my button to tell me "happy birthday," Goofy asked me to kiss his nose, & Minnie loved my ears. I also met the nicest family, who thought I was by myself & offered to adopt me for the day & let me hang out with them.
After that, I still had time to get in line to meet Baymax while everyone was on their ride. Big Hero 6 is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated Disney movies! It's so good, & I would absolutely love to have my own personal Baymax. I got a little emotional meeting him, if we're being totally honest. Baymax's character attendants were so sweet, & got tons of photos, made me laugh, & were very complimentary of my outfit. Such a good experience! & that hug photo is my favorite character photo of the weekend, for sure! If you're wondering, it was like hugging a giant, wonderful, marshmallow balloon.
Club Cool was also fun! We tried Coke products from around the world. Although most were definitely not things I'd like to drink every day (or ever again, for that matter), I loved trying them all!
We did a quick walk-through of the American Adventure, then stopped in Italy so Alex & Halli could grab pizza (They loved the pizza so much, they ended up getting more that evening!). Then we went into Germany, where Laker & I got a bratwurst & chips. We also met Snow White! We got there right as they were cutting off her line, so we decided to stay & wait for her next meet time. Since we were the first ones to be cut off, they let us stay to meet her instead of waiting. We actually ended up getting some extra time with her! She taught us how to make a wish at her well, & said we were never too old to make a wish. She loved my outfit, & taught me how to do a princess pose.
Then we went on to China, where Halli & I got tea smoothies (there will be a lot of food in these next sections!). Halli's was mango green tea, I believe, & mine was strawberry oolong. So so good! The buildings in this section were my favorite! They had such pretty, intricate designs. We spotted Mulan, but her line was long, so we didn't meet her. In each country's section, we also explored the shops. You could buy clothing or souvenirs based on each country's culture. Also, all of the architecture was unique to the country, & most of the workers in each section were from their respective countries. It was so fun to feel like you were getting to see bits & pieces of each culture!
In Morocco, we had a whole platter of food - lamb, chicken, hummus, pita, salads, so many good things. I also had some baklava for the first time. While we were there, we got asked to take a photo for another family, who then offered to return the favor for us. It became quite a funny experience - one of them fended people off & directed traffic, while the other took photos from several angles, bending down & moving around like a pro! & we met Jasmine & Aladdin! Aladdin's voice was perfect. He said I must be the genie of the family (because I made our ears) & invited me to play with Rajah because I said tigers were my favorite. Halli said she liked monkeys, so Jasmine said if we found Abu, we could keep him!
The buildings in Japan might have been my second favorite, next to China. My favorite part about Japan was going to the Pick-a-Pearl section. Halli & I each picked a clam, & as you can see in the video below, we were helped to open it & get the pearl from inside. I now have it inside a little Cinderella's carriage necklace!
