Eloi Eloi, Laker's old band, played their last show in April. It was bittersweet for all of us. I have such great memories of his time in a band. I met so many great people through that ministry, but I am also glad to have him home full-time instead of constantly on the road.
Another bittersweet experience this year was watching one of my best friends, Brandon, move to Colorado, around the same time that another one of my closest friends, Colleen, moved here from Florida.
My mom & I both got new college degrees! She is officially a "doctor" now, which is super impressive, & I have a degree, which is enough for me! For now, at least. Grad school will begin in the fall.
Lots of friends are getting married! We had the privilege of attending a few weddings this year (as well as being in the Hickerson wedding!), & it's always such a blessing to see friends beginning their marriages. We also celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a trip to Dallas (which meant my first time at Ikea & Medieval Times!).
& we're finally getting the hang of switching off between our families for major holidays. We spent Easter with my family, Thanksgiving with Laker's, Christmas back with mine, & then the weekend after Christmas with his. Next year will be the opposite.
More fun things that happened this year... A 4th of July camping trip, a trip to the corn maze in Chickasha, Laker turned 22 & I turned 23, we went on vacation with each of our families, we went to Springfield again, we threw a Harry Potter party & a Halloween party, I saw the Nutcracker & Wicked, we had a couple of girls days, we ate too much & played with animals at the fair, & I impressed my father-in-law & husband by hitting our 4" target on the first try when they took me out shooting on Black Friday. Plus we saw JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE! IN REAL LIFE! That's something I don't think I'll ever get over.
Overall, it's been a great year, & I can't wait to make this next one even better!
