January.- The most important thing that happened in January was the birth of my perfect little nephew, Harrison! - January also involved lots of puppy cuddles. - I got my aura photographed at an arts market with Rachel & Sami. This is something I've always wanted to do, and it was so fun to hear about the meanings behind each color! Click "Read More" to see the rest!

Fun thing for poetry and/ or space lovers! NASA is allowing people to add their names to the spacecraft that will be flying to one of Jupiter's moons. If you click the link below, you can add your name, and also read the poem written for the spacecraft by U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limon! europa.nasa.gov/message-in-a-bottle/sign-on/ I added my name to a similar project a few years ago. My name is currently on the surface of Mars, aboard the Mars Rover, Perseverance!
Durell Carter, one of my Red Dirt Poetry pals & fellow Board members, just released his first book! He was the featured poet at an open mic night at Green Feather Books for the Mark Allenn Everett Poetry Series, and my friend Rachel and I went to see him read. I also purchased a copy of his book while I was there! We also unexpectedly got to meet a Red Dirt Poetry legend! Every open mic, we end the evening by saying, "That's it! Hang out. Hug a poet. I love you, & goodnight!" This quote originated with Spontaneous Bob, one of the first people to start Red Dirt Poetry. And he happened to be at the reading! Rachel & I got a photo with him & Durell. You can purchase your own copy of Durell's book, Mr. Monday Morning's Broken Songs & Testimonies, at many local OKC bookstores, or by clicking here to visit Durell's website.
A fun little thing that Kevin found... His dad is coming to town and he has been looking into places for us to go, and he happened to find a photo of me on Visit OKC's page! A few months ago, Sami and I were visiting and reviewing some different local coffee shops, and we documented it on social media. They used one of our photos on their website, and we didn't know until Kevin stumbled across it!
I am not a big Valentine's Day fan, but Parks & Rec introduced me to the idea of Galentine's parties as a way to show love to friends. To be more inclusive, I called mine a Palentine's party, but still wanted to celebrate feminine energy & friendships! My theme for 2023 was 80s/90s nostalgia. My outfit was inspired by Jenna Rink from 13 Going on 30! I encouraged my pals to dress up too, & even got the dogs involved!
I love to share a recap of my year around NYE! Click "Read More" to see what I was up to in 2022.
